This project is probably going to end up as a documentary of some sort. However for it to work, I need your help!

First of all, I need videos of you guys, whoever you are and wherever you are, telling me what beauty is to you, telling me why we shouldn’t only look at stereotypes, and telling me how you specifically are different from stereotypes. This is utterly crucial as I want to include as many opinions as possible, from as many places in the world as possible!! Secondly, I need as many people as possible to be aware of this project! Global awareness is key in My Beauty because it is not a local phenomenon, but a global one! I want to help people everywhere dealing with the problem of beauty and stereotypes! But I can’t do it alone! That’s where you come in! Hi and welcome to My Beauty. My Beauty is a project I am working on, and it’s main aim is to break certain stereotypes that women have regarding beauty.

In our day and age, beauty is what we see on television and in magazines. More often than not, that is a skinny (air-brushed) model with luscious long hair, large baby-doll eyes and perfect skin, so that is what young women aspire to look like.

THIS.IS.NOT.BEAUTY.It is simply a stereotype, and no-one should aim to be a stereotype. There is nothing wrong with being different and being different does not make you ugly. In fact, being different makes you beautiful.

So what is beauty as seen by society? What is beauty as seen by individuals? Why should we be different? How are you different?

My project looks to answer these questions and more.
